Original Item with WW2 German Markings:
The LS42 is noticeably shorter than the Laufschützer 43. It was soon replace by the Laufschützer 43 "dual purpose" carrier and is the least common of German WW2 barrel carriers.
Original German marked Laufschützer 42s are quite rare since they were quickly replace by the Laufschützer 43 (dual purpose) barrel carrier which worked with both MG34 & MG42 barrels.
These came out of Yugoslav arsenals and were typically repainted after WW2. Slings may be post war as well
These carriers in this listing may have the following blemishes:
Condition: Low Grade but functional with some dents, bends, rust, welds, worn or broken slings, and/or other surface blemishes generally as pictured.
* The latch works properly and will properly hold a barrel.
Most of these were built without the hold open bar but one that have them may be bent in this grade.
