This is a machined and hardened steel replacement part for the MG34 charging handle. The cocking piece is the part that contacts the bolt carrier to charge the gun. Rather than being held by 2 rivets, we have made this to be attached by button head screws (6-32, 2 included) so future repairs and replacements are easier. If desired, the screw holes could be drilled out and the original style rivet installation could be done.
Our standard installation requires the mounting holes on the charging handle base and barrel jacket lock spring on charging handle to be drilled slightly larger for the attaching screws.
