Original Item with WW2 German Markings: MG34 Barrel Carrier (Laufschützer 34) later converted for use with both MG34 and MG42 barrels. Note the rectangular sheet metal modification to accommodate the wider MG42 barrel collar.

Production Variations:
* Some were manufactured with the hold open bar and some were not.
* Some have aluminum insert and some have sheet metal insert.
These came out of Yugoslav arsenals and were typically repainted after WW2. Slings may be post war as well
These carriers in this listing may have the following blemishes:
Low Grade but working condition with some dents, bends, rust, welds, worn or broken slings, and/or other surface blemishes generally as pictured.
* The latch and inserts work properly to hold the barrel.
Most of these were built without the hold-open bar but ones that have them may be bent in this grade. This feature was discarded in later production barrel carriers, typically in 1942-end.
